Event Description

ATS Family bonding through competition with other families. Each game gives points (1st - 3, 2nd - 2, 3rd - 1) with prizes at the end.

Attendance

About 53 people showed up, 31 RSVP'ed online. Came from 5 families, 2 of which were combined. The weather was kinda gloomy and it wasn't a great day to be outside.

Events (In order)

• (Family) Ninja
  • Families are eliminated when their last member dies
  • Towards the end, form a circle around contestants and crowd them in to prevent constant cowardice

• Family Freeze Tag
  • Family members run around and can un-freeze one another
  • If you are frozen 3 times, you are permanently frozen and leave the field

• Co-op Lychee Jelly Eating
  • Approx 20 lychee jellies per family (we used 3 jars of 39 and gave out 25 to each family)
  • Each family sits in a circle and eats lychee jellies together..
  • You can only feed jellies to the person next to you, and only after you've (completely) finished the one the previous person fed to you
  • May require more moderation - one person to watch each family

• Human Knot
  • Go around before starting and check knots for solvability

• (Family) Wah!
  • Sit out and arbitrate disputes - be semi-strict to ensure that the game moves along, since people get eliminated pretty quickly and have nothing to do

• 3v3 Finger Fencing Tournament
  • Round-robin style tournament, each family has sends 3 contestants to fight each other family
  • Contestants can be different each time to conserve strength
  • Possibly suggest avoiding rolling around on the grass (mud?)

• Relay Race -> Pastry Eating
  • Three pastries per family, planned for 6 families -> bought 20 buo luo baos (pineapple buns) from Bao Bao the morning of
  • 3-man relay race for each team to bring back the pastries
  • After a family has all of its pastries, it is allowed to start eating them
  • Three family members eat the three pastries however they like (they can start at the same time)

Materials

• Stuff for games (food for pastries and lychee eating)
• Megaphone, not really used except for entertainment
• Prizes
  • 1st: 1 jar lychee jellies, 2 bags assorted gummies, 1 box choco hello panda, 1 bag assorted hi-chew
  • 2nd: 1 bag assorted gummies, 1 box choco hello panda, 1 bag assorted hi-chew
  • 3rd: 1 bag assorted gummies, 1 bag assorted hi-chew
  • 4th: 1 bag assorted hi-chew
