2017 - March 15-17 (Wed-Fri), Care Packages

Your usual care package event! This semester, we sold 614 packages. Yay for industrialized care :)

Everything generally went smoothly, as people knew what to do. Logistics:

Sales were straightforward. People did things right.
Our snack shopping (at CMart) was quite the struggle, as cards kept getting rejected. Next time, pay by check or something? Or bring enough credit cards! (Li + Lawrence + May had all their cards rejected, so Rachel and Tony Uber'd from campus to pay; we ended up paying with three credit cards and $187 cash aggregated from five people's wallets.)
We loaded the groceries onto two Ubers. One was completely full (trunk and back seats); the other fit a few more snacks and most people.
Sweatshop went smoothly, although emotions ran high for the first half hour or so. Don't forget to bring a paper cutter!

The cellophane bags we usually order from Amazon didn't arrive on time, so Li had to make a bunch of Uber trips to buy bags herself. The silver lining is that the new bags were way better and cheaper. Yay!
It appears we have a lot of slips left over, so probably don't need to make more.
When generating care package slips from the online responses, ensure all pages are printed . We dropped seven pages of slips, which Rachel and Tony printed out and packaged afterwards.
Next time, we can order from CMart in advance an estimated amount of snacks. Surplus can be diverted to other events, and shortages can be made up for by a supplementary CMart run.
The slip generation script is rather janky (e.g. because we delimit messages by expressions like 1) or 2), some emoji caused parsing issues). Write a new script?
Also, the printed slips were all different sizes, so we had to cut each individual sheet separately. If we make a new script, we can make all the slips the same size for easy cutting.
Save as many lychee jars as we can for CPW Activities Midway (topping holding) and for Bobafest (tea holding)!
